Three Way To Turn Your Blog Into an ATM

You have your blog going and have begun to get some traffic because of your great content. Isn’t it time you made some decent money from your blog?

Sure, some people do this for nothing, but pocket change and giggles, but for the enterprising individual that I am sure you are, we must look at ways to add revenue to our blogs to actually turn blogging into a successful business.

Before we do, it’s important to realize that there’s nothing ethically or morally wrong with monetizing your blog. After all, the products you sell or ads you run from your blog will be aimed to help your readers, and it’s their decision to engage in them at the end of the day.

So, let’s look at the various ways to extract some easy money from your blog:

1. Adsense

This is the old classic that still holds true for many bloggers. Because Adsense is so easy to implement into your site, and because the quality of the ads (and relevance) is so high, there’s a lot of potential to get lots of clicks from running this simple script on your site. However, this might not exactly allow you to quit your day job just yet, unless you have a serious amount of traffic coming in to your blog daily.

2. Affiliate programs

There’s no end of products you can promote as an affiliate and in many cases (particularly with digital download sales) you can earn a significant share of the revenue, sometimes up to 100% in a few cases.

It’s really just a case of finding a good affiliate network, signing up and picking products to promote that tie in with your blog content. The more you hand pick individual products to promote based on individual posts, the higher your revenue will be. Don’t just slap one product on the sidebar; you need to actively presell the product by talking about it, and the problems it solves.

3. Selling advertising space

Just like making money from Adsense ads on your blog, there needs to be substantial (and targeted) traffic to your blog in order for you to attract media buyers (the people who buy the ad space from your site).

Furthermore, advertisers will want to know precise demographics of your average blog readers, such as their age, location and reading habits (how long they stay on your site and what they respond to in terms of your content and other ads). You can get this information by visiting Quantcast.com and using their scripts to gather all of this data from your blog, which you can then present to interested buyers of ad space on your blog.

These are just some of the ways to attract revenue from your site. Each of the above methods does, of course, require more training in order for you to reach your maximum profit potential and beyond.

Birthday presents – for the musical .

It can be a headache trying to think of a gift for a close friend . The last resort gifts like chocolate or alcohol or deodorant , might be ok for distant friends or relatives, but if you love the person well enough to know that they are in to music composition , then you feel a certain need to assist them to make a noise .

The UK Channel 5 TV series the Gadget Show, with the delightful Suzi Perry, did a musical technology round-up recently . They featured a top 5 pick of music making devices , but the audience panel picked the Korg Kaoscillator as their overall winner.

Great you think. They probably won’t have one if these weird little things already! But then you find Korg have no stock, possibly for 3 months. A bit of a late present that one.

But fear not because the Internet has a virtual alternative. I found out about the Chaos Wave Synth by accident as a video on the Web Video Widget network. It isn’t a emulation of, but an inspiration based upon the Korg. None the less, it is still yellow, hmm that will remind them of you every day, and it certainly seems to make the same sort of “noises”. It’s called the Chaos Wave Synth and you can watch the video at their website. If you have enough laptops, you could even form the first chaos orchestra.

I say noises, but actually, with a little practice in the right hands and it seems to be quite a stonking musical instrument, with a wide range of tones and playing possibilities.

If you’re as old as I am, the XY pad (a sort of touch pad) seems a little reminiscent of the Dubrek Stylophone, infamised by Rolf De Harris, or the theremin, that wand like instrument featured heavily in 1950’s sci-fi B movies and in the Beach Boys record.

It certainly seems capable of producing those sort of tones as well, but have a sneaking feeling it will be the drum beats and bas lines that those young generation will get absorbed in to.

Being software it does need a computer, but that can be a laptop. Either way, there should be a way of getting headphones on it, to prevent aunt Mildred from being sucked up in to the tcchno gabba groove at the gathering.

Giving musical instruments as presents, is always a bit of an issue in my book. Give a 5 year old a drum kit, and he will play (bang) it all day, much to everyone elses shragrala. So as this can be on headphones, it’s a much safer bet in my book.

It’s available as a download, so there’s no queuing at the shops to get it either and it should still be open, even on the day itself. So if the thought of traipsing around the shops gets too mind numbing for you, you may want to buy yourself a copy too. Even without any musical skill, it can be pretty entertaining.

Aah the gift of presents. It just fills you, doesn’t it? But I’m buying one for myself too. Don’t see why the youngsters should have all the fun ;-)
Happy days.

Which Are The Best Article Directories With The Most Exposure?

If you know anything at all about marketing online then you will no doubt have heard about article directories.

There are hundreds of these all over the internet, but that doesn’t mean it is worth submitting to all of them. If you get to know what the best article submission sites are and you submit your articles to them regularly, you can expect to get a lot of exposure and a potentially huge number of people reading your articles and clicking on your link to visit your website too.

So which sites should you be going to? Here are the top three:

Ezine Articles
This is a huge article directory and it is easily known as being the best one of the lot. At the time of writing it has over one hundred and twenty thousand authors who have realized its benefits, and that number is set to keep rising.

There are plenty of reasons why you should submit your articles to this site, but the main one is definitely that Google loves it with a passion. If you look up almost any subject on that search engine, the chances are very high that you will find at least one article from Ezine Articles ranking somewhere on the first page.

There are also plenty of good categories to post your articles in, and you will find the member’s dashboard is full of information and very easy to use as well.

Buzzle
Despite the rather strange name this site is a definite hit with anyone wanting to increase the traffic to their website.

It looks a lot more polished than a lot of article directories, and each author gets their own profile page which they can fill out with some information about themselves. This page also contains an author widget which should encourage some of your ardent readers to tell everyone about you on their web page!

And you can of course also link through to your website, to get that much needed traffic you are after. You can do this from your profile and also from the end of each article you write.

As with Ezine Articles there are plenty of categories to post your content to, and the process is made as easy as possible. This should definitely be on your ‘to do’ list to join if you are not already a member.

Search Warp
This site promotes itself as a writer’s community, and it certainly is. But don’t let that fool you into thinking that you won’t get plenty of exposure and traffic from posting your articles here.

The author’s dashboard is a great place to start, with lots of data and information on all the articles you submit. Not only can you see how much traffic each article is getting, you will also see whether each piece is getting search engine referrals. You can also generate a fan club at Search Warp, so if people like what you are writing about, you could benefit in more than one way.

Area219.com
This site calls itself a content directory, and takes article submissions on almost any topic. One of the advantages of using Area219.com is that they allow you to insert your Adsense publisher ID into your profile and then shares the ad impressions on your article pages with you 50/50.

The site is fairly new but will undoubtedly grow exponentially once people start seeing the benefit of sharing the Adsense revenue with the directory.

These are some the top article directories online today, so make sure you are a part of all of them.

Building An Online Business Takes Commitment

I recently launched a new online business technical training site after a pre-launch period of about three weeks. During that period I did some promotion of the site and had a form on the landing page to collect names and email addresses of those interested in knowing when the site went live.

A total of 78 people opted in and when the site went live, of course, I emailed those folks to let them know. One of those people turned out to be a fellow marketer living about 40 minutes from me. She emailed me to let me know that a few days prior to the site launch.

Launch day came and I got another email from her saying how she was sorry, but she “couldn’t afford [my] prices” and she wouldn’t be signing up for the site. She then went into a long dissertation about how she had to be very careful how she spent her money and how there are lots of scam artists out there and that she had the perfect plan for making her fortune on the Internet.

You ready? Here’s the plan:

  1. Put up a squeeze page and collect a bunch of names and emails
  2.

  3. Get those people to trust her
  4.

  5. Join an affiliate program and sell the product to her list
  6.

Here I’d been working my tail off for almost two years to get this Internet marketing thing figured out and she had it down to three simple steps! Who knew?!?

Obviously, she left out a few details in the master plan, like how she was going to get people to visit her squeeze page and leave their contact info so that she could then convince them she was trustworthy. I wrote back to her and told her that if she already knew how to put up a squeeze page and drive traffic to it she didn’t need my training anyway. I wondered what had prompted her to sign up for my prenotification list in the first place, but decided not to ask.

I had previously asked her what she felt was a reasonable price for online business technical training, but never got an answer. I felt (and still do) the charter membership rate was very reasonable, maybe even too reasonable, but it’s all in the eye of the beholder. I restrained myself from asking her how she expected to build an online business with a mindset that was afraid to spend a few dollars a month for training, but since she apparently doesn’t need training, the point is moot anyway.

The point of this is that I can recall when I first started out and the idea of committing to spending more than a few bucks a month was a little scary. The reason it was scary was that I didn’t know if I was going to generate enough revenue to cover it.

That can be a big hurdle for people to get over. It often entails being willing to go ahead and commit to the monthly expense and trusting that the investment will help the business generate the necessary revenue. It also requires some patience as the cash flow may not increase dramatically, but slowly over time.

The key is to make the commitment and put in the required effort. If it doesn’t pay off, you’ll have learned something and you can go on to the next thing. Chances are, however, if you give it sufficient time to work, the results will be well worth the investment.

I Took Piano Lessons As a Kid, But I’ve Forgotten Almost Everything…

There are literally millions of adults today who took piano lessons when they were growing up, but at some point along the way gave them up. Some couldn’t care less, but many have an urge down deep to take up piano playing again someday.

Over the years I have never heard anyone say “I’m glad I never learned to play the piano”, but I have heard hundreds say something like “I sure wish I had paid attention when I was a kid”, or “My piano teacher was too strict (or too boring), but I would love to get back to the piano some day.”

And most people that feel that way have the “round-tuit” problem that we all have; they mean well, but the busyness of life distracts them from starting to play again. And they really don’t want to take lessons again from the little old lady down the street who can’t tell the Beatles from Beethoven. Plus it’s hard to work regular lessons into their already-packed schedule.

So what’s the solution?

There are two inter-related factors that when combined create an opportunity for adults such as this unlike any in history.

1. For the first time ever there is the world-wide web and all its endless and growing sources of information. Up to nearly 2000 AD an individual was limited to the piano teachers of the region in which he or she lived. But it’s not so anymore. Many piano teachers have moved their teaching into the cyber world of the internet in the form of online lessons. Others have DVDs and CDs available in all aspects of piano playing, from the basics of a beginner to the improvisations of an advanced player. And they are easy to find, too. Simply type in phrases such as “piano lessons for adults” or “how to play the piano” or “I want to learn piano chords” into any search engine such as Google, and up pops a vast array of intriguing possibilities. (Try it — you’ll see!)

2. The second factor is one that has always existed, but until recent times has not been articulated well so that the average person could understand the concept. And that is simply that there are 3 different ways to learn to play the piano, and adults can pick one of the three, two of the three, or all three in any combination, and come out with a synergy far better than any one method alone.

The 3 methods are:

1. Reading music from the printed score. Well over 95% of all piano lessons revolve around the ability to read a piece of sheet music, and the technical facility to make your fingers do what your mind tells them to do. This is the traditional method of piano lessons; scales, drills, finger exercises, and practice reading endless pieces from the very first “Left thumb, right thumb” piece to the most advanced classical piece such as Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata” or Rachmaninoff’s “Prelude in C# minor”. And there are teachers online who can teach music reading. Search for them by typing in such phrases as “learn to read music” or “classical piano lessons online”.

2. Playing by ear. There are a very few individuals who can really play by ear, but they don’t need our help — they can play what they want any way they want. Playing by ear can be taught to some degree, but anyone who thinks they can end up playing like Ray Charles is kidding himself or herself. Still, normal individuals can learn to pick out a tune by ear and then match a chord to that melody, and eventually entertain themselves and others while having a ball.

3. Playing from chord symbols. Many professional pianists — especially jazz pianists — use fake books. Fake books are collections of songs in a lead sheet format, which means the melody of the song plus the chord symbols that go with the melody. To learn this form of playing you will need to learn chords — at least enough to play the songs you want to play — and you will need to learn to read the tune of the song in the treble clef — a skill much easier than learning to read masses of notes in both the treble and bass clefs.

Most people don’t even know that this form of playing exists, or if they do, they thing it is limited to pros. Not so. It is a straightforward process and produces good results after a relatively short period of time. In other words, you’ll be playing enough to enjoy yourself and maybe amaze your friends in a matter of weeks instead of years.

All of these methods are viable, and all can be learned from piano teachers online. But probably the best way of all is a synergy of the 3 ways: learn to read sheet music, develop your ear, and learn chords and how to use chord symbols to create your own styles of music.

Which ever method you pick is fine — just pick one and get going. A world of fun and satisfaction await!

For more information on the 3 methods adults can learn how to play the piano, watch my free short 5-minute video titled “I want to get back to piano playing!” Please go to the Play Piano Catalog of Piano Courses.

Where do you Learn the most?

To Shop

Sometimes haste is tragic too. The recent trampling death at a Long Island Walmart is just one example of how easy it is for people to get carried away Rock concerts and bullfights are known for trampling crowds too.

It is without a doubt a safer choice to shop from home. For myself, I shop online a lot more. And I go to familiar places like this birding guides store. I trust them. Besides what is most important for me today is a feeling of trust and safety. This birding guides place helps me feel that way and I shall do my Christmas shopping there.

I love to Learn

And I love books and love to read. Lately I find I cannot get to as many libraries in person but I do visit the New York Public Library online. My current project is researching home based business because I want to start one for a second income. So my attention has turned to seeking good quality home based business review sites and I am really glad to find at least one I feel I can trust.

Exploring is contagious

I love to explore outdoors. When I cannot get outdoors to explore, I rely on reading about other adventures in books and online.

Since I love birds and nature I often look for special times when I can take my favorite birding guide and bird binoculars and take a walk even around the neighborhood or in a city park. It was simple things like this that got some of the great environmental movements started, individual people noticing small changes in which birds are numerous and which ones are no longer around. Rachel Carson’s book called Silent Spring was based on her awareness of the lack of springtime songbirds Rachel Carson’s work and her scientific background was all she needed for credibility and she was a catalyst for major environmental movements in America in the 1970’s.

Organic Baby Clothing Buyers Guide

If you are expecting or have just delivered a baby, congratulations! As parents if you are looking to influence your child’s view of the world by choosing an organic lifestyle, we commend you! One of first new things you will need is organic baby clothes.

Buying organic cotton baby clothing has several advantages. Because they are made without chemicals and pesticides, the chances that baby will suffer from rashes or skin conditions are slender. Non organic cotton is made with synthetic chemicals and fertilizers. This is practiced all over the the globe. Exposure to such toxic substances in children can lead to side effects including difficulty breathing, asthma, and vision problems. Now just imagine buying such clothes for your little one. Some of these chemicals are so potent that they can easily be absorbed into baby’s fragile skin. Now please understand, the cotton is not the problem, but the chemicals which are used to grow cotton. Buying organic baby clothing will reduce the risk drastically of baby developing a skin rash and allergies. You will also be helping to save the environment. The USDA has established stringent guidelines for certifying cotton organic. Farm inspections are necessary to make sure all organic guidelines for cotton production are obeyed and followed.

Organic Cotton Baby Clothes come in many styles and fashions. From onsies and body suits to hats, pants and sweaters, organic baby clothes have come along way with many companies designing many lines. In fact there may be only a 10% price increase in quality organic clothing over its non organic counterpart. Spending a few dollars more for baby’s health is something most parents will do without seriously affecting their budget.

Investing Ways

Currently lot of people want to know the best ways to invest money today to assist them make money now. get rich overnight. But, rarely is there such a thing on money matter today. May be you can certainly can make a lot of money with your investments, unfortunately it must take some time.

Thus, most investors don’t want to wait to make their money now. They want it fast. Due to that, we can see so many investors losing a fortune on the stock market today.

That is why, the world’s top investors view all their investments as a long term cash flow stream. Some investors are doing short sales and pocketing more cash. Being house rich and cash poor can put many investors in a crunch if some crisis happens. Not having the money to close a good deal prevents some investors from cashing in on lucrative transactions. The first thing new investors need to understand is that lack of money should never be an issue when you plan.

The vast majority of investors don’t think this way. For instance, in the market, a typical investor might look at a stock and see that it’s been going up for the past week.

Combine the buy and hold method with the quick-turn-around investment strategy to put cash in your pocket within a matter of weeks rather than years. If you find a good deal with lots of equity sitting in the property be sure you can re-finance within a short period of time to get the equity out and into another high yield interest investment fund that you can access when you find the next good deal.

This same mentality applies with investing in real estate. Most people think that real estate investors make their money buy buying for a certain price and turning around and immediately selling it for $50,000 more.

While some do partake in this activity, the vast majority will only invest if the long term profits look good. They will usually invest in order to rent it to a tenant and obtain a long term passive income stream.

So, when you are building your real estate empire consider buy and hold strategies in addition to a quick turn-around transaction approach to investing. Build your funding sources so that you are ready to make the offer and close the deal.
